Mr. Silvester graduated with honors from the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University, where he served as the Executive Editor of the George Mason University Civil Rights Law Journal and as a Symposium Editor of the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy. During law school, Tim served as a member of the Moot Court Board and was selected to compete as a member of the National Moot Court Team, ultimately earning honors at the prestigious National Moot Court Competition as Champion and Best Oral Advocate at the Southeast Regional and as National Quarterfinalist. In addition, Tim served as Executive Vice President of the Trial Advocacy Association, as a Research Assistant to Professor David E. Bernstein, as president of the law school’s Federalist Society chapter, as a Legal Research & Writing Fellow, and as a student member of the George Mason American Inn of Court.
Before law school, Mr. Silvester earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from Bob Jones University, where he graduated first in his class and was named the Distinguished English Language & Literature graduate.
After law school, Mr. Silvester served as a trial and litigation specialist in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps, where he handled high-stakes trials and litigation. Across five judicial districts, he served as lead counsel on over 25 felony jury trials. As a complex litigation team chief and senior legal counsel, Tim directed hundreds of criminal and administrative investigations and assisted the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District Virginia in a complex procurement fraud investigation and prosecutions of over four dozen contracting officers across the National Guard Bureau. In his final assignment at the Pentagon, Tim served as an advisor to The Judge Advocate General of the U.S. Army and as ambassador to the executive and legislative branches. Tim is a recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal, the Armed Forces Service Medal, the Army Staff Identification Badge, and the Air Assault Badge, and maintains a Top Secret clearance.
Tim’s government service included advocating for adult and child victims of sexual abuse. As the inaugural senior special victim counsel for the 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, Tim commanded an office of lawyers and paralegals and personally represented 85 special victims. In private practice, Tim has drawn on this experience in his pro bono work, representing unaccompanied minors seeking asylum before the Board of Immigration Appeals and veterans appealing the denial of benefits before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
Prior to joining KSG, Tim served as a law clerk for the Honorable Rolando Olvera on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas and as a litigation associate at an international law firm on the mainland.
Mr. Silvester is a member of the Hawaii State Bar Association and is licensed to practice in all state courts in Hawaii, New York, Washington, D.C., Texas, and Georgia, and in the United States District Courts for the District of Hawaii, the Southern District of Texas, and the Eastern District of Texas.
