Chelsea Maja joined Kobayashi Sugita & Goda in 2017 as part of the commercial litigation, immigration, and liquor license departments.

 

Ms. Maja received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Washington School of Law.

 

While attending law school, Ms. Maja participated in the Entrepreneurial Law Clinic. Through the clinic she assisted startups by reviewing their business plans and advising courses of action to best refine and achieve their business goals. Her work included filing formation documents with the Washington Secretary of State and assisting nonprofit clients with entity formation and obtaining 501(c)(3) status. Ms. Maja also represented clients in trademark registration proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office as part of the USPTO Trademark Pilot Program.

 

Prior to law school, Ms. Maja graduated from Sacred Hearts Academy and attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. During college, Ms. Maja participated in the Honors Program and earned high honors for her senior thesis on the 2008 financial crisis, and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

 

Ms. Maja is a member of the Hawaii State Bar Association and is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in the State of Hawaii.
